Daisy Dots - Beautiful Rustic Wedding Stationery

Hi, I’m Katie! I started Daisy Dots Wedding Stationery back in January 2018 and what an amazing journey it has been. I began freelancing as a Graphic Designer after graduating university. I had always wanted to incorporate flowers and pastel colours within my designs, but never had the chance. So within my first year of business, I threw myself into as many wedding fayres as possible.

This was a great way to meet other wedding suppliers and to get my name out there. The wedding industry really surprised me and I have formed some great friendships with fellow wedding suppliers. I work from my garden studio which I love. I'm very lucky to be able to work in such a lovely environment and it really helps to boost my creativity.

Our designs are perfect for engaged couples looking for rustic and floral wedding stationery. There are 12 designs to choose from on our website and we can also create a bespoke design for you, if you are looking for something specific.

Our most popular product is the invitation bundle, which includes the invitation, RSVP card, information card and envelopes.

There are no hidden extras within the price, from the design to the assembly, everything is included for you. We want to make everything as stress free as possible so the bundles arrive assembled and ready to post out to your guests.

The invitation bundles also include twine/ribbon and tags with the couple’s names on. We offer a personalised service and we want to make sure that your stationery is perfect for you.

We recommend that you send out your save the dates around a year in advance and your invitations 6-9 months before the wedding.

As well as save the dates, we offer on the day stationery. This includes table plans, table place cards, table numbers, order of service, menus and thank you cards.

A lot of our couples choose to keep the same design for their on the day stationery, so that the design is consistent throughout their wedding journey.

We advise that we start on the day stationery around 2 months before the big day, so that there is plenty of time to design and make any last minute alterations.

If you would like to discuss your stationery ideas, we are offering phone call consultations. So if you are planning your wedding throughout lockdown, get in touch as we would love to hear from you!

Q&As

What is your favourite part of what you do?

One of my favourite parts of the job is meeting and working with different couples. I love hearing about how they met, their engagement and what they do. I also enjoy creating bespoke designs and getting creative. When I first started freelancing, I was working with small businesses and there wasn’t much room for creativity, so I really appreciate brides who come to me with an idea and I can bring it to life for them.

What's your Favourite Stationery Style?

I love pastel colours and pretty floral designs. I have always loved subtle but elegant designs.

What makes Daisy Dots different to other Stationery Suppliers?

Over the past 2 years, I often have couples come over to me at wedding fayres and say

"We’ve seen designs that we like online, but we really want to chat to someone about what we want".

Planning a wedding is extremely stressful, so I think it’s important for people to be able to chat to their suppliers and feel reassured with what they can offer them. I offer a personal service for my couples and I am always happy to help with any problems they are facing. Whether that is guiding them on the right gift poem or helping them with their invitation wording. I like to meet with my couples over a coffee (pre-lockdown) or chat to them over the phone so that I can get an idea of who they are and what they are looking for.

Is there anything you'd love to see trending in Wedding Stationery?

I would love to see more eco friendly products. I was involved in an eco shoot a couple of years ago and I created all the stationery out of recycled card, biodegradable twine and plantable seed paper. There’s definitely a market for it and I think I’ll start experimenting over the next few weeks.

Does any Custom Design you've made stand out for you?

I created a bespoke design that was based on the theatre. The couple first met at the theatre and regularly went on dates to watch musicals and comedians. The future groom also proposed at the theatre, so it holds a special place in their heart.

I loved creating something different to my usual style and they are such a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately they have had to postpone their wedding until next summer, but they are optimistic and already excited for the big day.

Who are you in lockdown with and how are you staying sane/passing the time?

I am in lockdown with my boyfriend, Alex and my parents. Fortunately I live by the sea, so I am enjoying going on my daily dog walk. I have also been busy decluttering and cleaning the house which I have found very satisfying and therapeutic. I have been calling at least 1 family member or friend a day to check in, especially those who live on their own.

With things the way they are at the moment, what is your Postponement/Cancellation Policy?

I am offering free digital designs for my couples who have to postpone or cancel their weddings. Any reprints will be charged at cost price.

What are your 3 Desert Island Items? - i.e. If you were stuck on a desert island and could only have 3 items, what would they be?

My Kindle (I’m reading more during lockdown), my glasses (because I can’t see a thing without them) and my pillow.

This Wedding Fayre is raising money for Mind, the Mental Health Charity - Why do you personally feel like this is a great cause?

I’m lucky to have a strong support network around me, so that when I do struggle, I know who to talk to about different issues. However, there are so many people who don’t have people around them or don’t feel that they can reach out to family and friends.

It’s really important that we check in on those who we think may be suffering and even those who put up a front and always ‘seem’ fine. Send them a card or just pick up the phone, it’s surprising what a difference it will make.

While I have been on lockdown, I have designed a pack of encouragement cards for people to send to family, friends and key workers. Hopefully these cards will help brighten someone’s day and encourage them to keep going through this difficult time.

Thank you Katie, for getting involved in this Event and including an offer in the Virtual Goody Bag! xo
